Shopify will no longer be keeping track of a product variant’s inventory level under the variant itself. Starting in March 2018, it will start to deprecate this and move toward keeping track of inventory management to a separate record.
As a result f this change, existing Cartfunnel customers who utilize our Shopify integration will have to modify the API settings in the private app section to allow for this new API change in Inventory adjustment. Note that this is a required change even if you do not keep track of inventory in Shopify or in Cartfunnel.
To allow Cartfunnel to access this part of the API for your store, in Shopify, go to Apps, and at the very bottom click on Manage Private Apps:
Once there, click on the API key that corresponds to Cartfunnel. On the next screen, you’ll be able to enable access to read and write to the inventory levels:
You will first need to click on Review disabled Admin API permissions to see the Inventory setting. Set it as Read and write. Be careful not to change anything else.
Lastly, click Save and you’re done.
We will be testing each account’s status in regards to this update to ensure that you’re updated for this API change.
