What does “Credit Card Capture” mean?

Once a credit card has been authorized, in order for the merchant (you) to be paid, you’ll need to capture the payment.

In order for a payment to be captured, it must be authorized first. The authorization step places a hold on the funds you want to receive so that the customer can’t go above their credit card limits as set by his or her issuing bank.

For Stripe connected accounts, automatic payment capture is activated by default — which means you won’t have to manually capture payments.
